What a fantastic journey Mr. Huffman takes us on. It was fascinating to get inside the head of someone that was adopted. The evolution of Michael's thoughts and feelings about his family, and then his new extended family (or original birth family), was realistic, yet cleverly pulled together by a string of life experiences. The writing was captivating and engaging and I want to know more about his life!As an adoptive parent myself, I often wonder what thoughts my child has about her own situation, and I think ahead to the time when she will begin to understand nature vs nurture. I can only hope that her journey is as thoughtful as Michael's was.

well written, funny and I would say this even if he wasn't my bro!
This is an intriguing story, wonderfully told. It was hard to put it down Michael is such a gifted storyteller with a great sense of humor as well. I love the way he gives us an insight into his thoughts throughout the story. I imagine not too many adopted children ever get the chance to interact with their biological family as Michael did. I praise him for sharing this very personal story with us.
Michael I really enjoyed reading about your life journey. I remember you telling about some of you auditing adventures around the world. I remember all of your adventures when you were building your house in Bali. I would have loved to break out of my comfort zone and made the trip over to visit you. Thanks for sharing your adventures with those of us who are not as adventurous!😄
Michael's ability to tell a story is evident in this piece. At once humorous and thoughtful, Michael ties together deeply personal moments from his life without making the reader uncomfortable. From his childhood as the eldest adopted son of loving entrepreneurial parents to the discovery of his roots and related coincidences, Michael delivers an engaging overview of his experiences in a dryly humorous voice. I read the book from start to finish without putting it down.
I have had the pleasure of reading several of Michaels stories. Always an adventure and always worth the read.
I enjoyed this heartfelt book about finding your place of belonging in the world. Michael's kindness, vulnerability and openness to the world unfolding in front of him...not as a silent observer, but of a hungry soul waiting to be expressed, is writing at its best. This is a story from the heart, that illuminates the fragility and strength of ones character when looking for a place to call home. Beautiful!! Truly beautiful.

The book is engaging on an emotional and intellectual level, as I found myself drawn in by descriptions of human connections and moments in life that are, undoubtedly, moments of truth and clarity.
